The Federal Chancellor Willy Brandt Foundation is one of the six non-partisan federal political memorial foundations established by the German Bundestag. They commemorate outstanding historical personalities who played an important role in German and European politics in the 19th and 20th centuries.

The Foundation is also a member of the Council of the Working Group “Places of Democracy History” and of the Deutscher Museumsbund e.V. (German Museum Association).
