International Exhibition

The exhibition “Willy Brandt 1913-1992. A Life for Freedom, Peace and Reconciliation between Nations” travels around the world as part of the 50th anniversary of Willy Brandt`s Chancellorship.

As opponent of the Nazis, Federal Chancellor, Nobel Prize laureate and international statesman, Willy Brandt was a staunch proponent of peace, freedom and solidarity. He left behind a rich political legacy that is still today ground-breaking in many aspects. Concentrating on ten historical places and events in his life, the international touring exhibition demonstrates Brandt’s political philosophy and actions.

The exhibition takes its viewers around the globe and through world history: To places like Oslo as the city of émigrés during the Nazi era, Berlin as a divided city and Moscow as the site of diplomatic negotiations during the Cold War. A further apsect is dedicated to Brandt’s relationships with the respective host country.
