Willy Brandt 1913-1992. A Life for Freedom, Peace and Reconciliation between Nations

The international touring exhibition

As opponent of the Nazis, Federal Chancellor, Nobel Prize laureate and international statesman, Willy Brandt always stood tirelessly on the side of peace, freedom and solidarity. He left behind a rich political legacy that, still today, is ground-breaking in many aspects.

Concentrating on ten historical places and events in his life, the international touring exhibition demonstrates Brandt’s political philosophy and actions.

The exhibition leads its viewers around the globe and through world history: To places like Oslo as the city of émigrés during the Nazi era, Berlin as a divided city and Moscow as the site of diplomatic negotiations during the Cold War.

A further stele is dedicated to Brandt’s relationships with the respective host country.
